I dont think you will have problems with seminyak, not having stayed in Bali before next time we would probably stay in Legian, but having said that seminyak has plenty of resturants and shops are good and not far away by taxi to kuta anyway only about 10minutes, we walked most of the time which has probably about 1/2 hour but good exercise. Didnt visit any nightclubs but Seminyak has quite a few. I think it really depends what you are after. Just go and enjoy.
The staff at the Pelangi are very nice, accom was fine too.
