Common misconception. Bahasa Indonesia translates to Indonesian Language. The indonesian language has different levels so to speak, kind of like common, fancy etc etc....
Studied Bahasa Indonesia for 10 years, Primary and High School (yup actually learnt something useful while I was there) and in my short trip to Bali for the first time ever it appears that the Balinese speak the common form of Bahasa Indonesia. Sort of like how you and I do not speak as eloquently as the Queen of England. Hope that makes some kind of sense. I could have been more articulate no doubt, but fancy pants english just aint my style......
