I returned Monday morning from a month in Bali & during that time I heard from the locals that as from 1st Janurary 2005 the Australian goverment has banned bringing back all copied dvd movies.
Going through the red door at Tullamarine with my wooden handicrafts & one hundred dvd films I asked the customs officer was this true.
He stated he had not been instructed anything of this nature but added that if people bring back multiple copies of new films they could be taken as they were clearly not for private use but for selling for profit.
He also stated that it may change as there was growing pressure from record & film companies about the copying & losing of millions of dollars in sales.
