We snorkelled in the little bay just east of PB, a fabulous time and are planning to spend more time there on our next trip. You need to go to the end of town and up and over the hill - bit of a goat track. On the other side is a little beach with a coral outcrop just out from the beach (coral is mostly dead - but there are lots of colourful fish). It's very peaceful, we hung out with the local hawkers, had a massage, ate at the warung on the beach, had a beer - doesn't get much better.
Tulamben was fantastic - snorkelling over the wreck - scared the hell out of me but then, I'm like that! Heaps of fish, well worth the drive. We stayed at Buitan, "Lumbung Dumah" a lovely homestay, right on the beach so were close to both sites. A magic experience.
Email me for any details if you are interested - have a great time!
