Hi Guys,
I have just been checking the archives and I can see a couple of old mesages for me. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back on the forum, but am only just getting into gear again after the last Bali trip in October. Even missed out on the BTF dinner, which is a shame, as I would've loved to have caught up with all you guys again. And yes, even Perth Dodgy too! Did Revvy Kevvy make it this time?
Danielle, sorry I missed you! I did enquire the 2 times I was visiting at the Dynasty, but couldn't find you or anyone knowing who you were. With the description you had given me, I didn't think I'd have any problem. Judd stayed there for 12 days with her family,& she had no luck either. You must've been out and about a lot I think!!
I read your JBR, and sounds like you had a great time. I didn't get to the S&S on the 19th October until well after 6pm, so only met a couple of people like Colin from the UK, Roo-Ted and Smokey.Hi guys! Wish I'd got there earlier as I had printed off a list of those forumites saying they were going, but never got round to checking it out.
Anyways, I am going to do a short JBR very soon, which will really just be an update on the June/July one.Needless to say the 7.5 days went by too quickly, and I never made half the restaurants I wanted to try this trip. However, I did manage to finally get a hair cream bath done at Secret Garden(very good & relaxing), found R2U shoe shop(great!), Dani's Collection shop in Rum Jungle Rd( recco from Hillary), ate twice at The Crown Restaurant(BTF recco, good food & cheap),looked in several other shops mentioned previously on the BTF, and discovered a couple of other great little shops.
The only disappointment in the whole trip, was the lamp which I was going to buy at Geneva and have freighted back by Trisha, was no longer in stock, although Daniel is going to try to source it for me from Java, so I may get lucky after all!Geneva was only one of my favourite shops that I re-visited, but I think I spread the money around well, especially with the favourable exchange rate on offer.
I stayed at the Kuta Lagoon Resort this trip, more on that later, had the usual leather jacket made at French and tailoring by House of Komang, & actually came back to Perth with our luggage weighing only 46.7kgs - the least ever!So no tales to tell about customs this trip, although two of my friends had other "experiences" with overweight luggage departing Bali and too much Duty Free alcohol going in!
