This is the only place I've ever stayed in Ubud so I can't make comparisons. I certainly feel drawn back to it however. A few years ago, we thought we really should look at other places to stay in Ubud so we spent an interesting half day checking other places out. What we saw just made us glad we were at the Tjampuhan. In saying that, I'm sure that others could say exactly the same about their favourite places.
On my recent trip of over a month, I was accompanied by my lady friend and this was her first time in Bali, so I made sure she saw a good variety of different places. We stayed in 6 different hotels of varying styles and standards, all of which she enjoyed. But when I ask her where she wants to stay next time, the first thing she says is "Tjampuhan".
