Phone Calls from the hotel are dear. Daughter rang back to Aust, cost 86,000rph for 3 minutes. Shame she only spoke to a message bank for 20 sec but had to pay for the full 3 mins.
Went to Hulu's, They have changed their show since our last trip and the drinks are dear in comparison to everywhere else. Strangley enough this visit there was a lot more guy clientale than previously.
At our hotel there was a couple of incidents of 'theft'. I am not sure whether it was really theft or whether these people had honestly misplaced their items. One day when I went to my safety deposit box there was a lady complaining of having her phone and something else taken. She was requesting the Duty Manager, Security and all the cleaning staff that were on. She offered for them to search her room for the items. They were explaining to her she needed to lodge a report with the police and telling her there was a fee involved. This women was not happy as she believed she should not be penalised and was not going to pay the fee. Not sure how she got on but if you don't pay the fee, it's not reported and therefore you can't claim insurance. Another instance there were a couple at the counter. They too were reporting something that had gone missing from there room. The staff usually work in groups when cleaning, and I have seen them laying on the beds but in all the times we have been there have we ever had anything go missing. To the point we leave a lot of things around and nothing is ever touched. This brings me back to something that happened a few years ago with a couple we met up with at the Adhi Dharma. They took their washing to the Smiley Laundry just down the road. The husband went and picked it up, somehow one of the parcels was put away in a cupboard. The wife realised some of the clothes were missing (brand name clothes), she marched up to the laundry, called in the owner, dragged them back to the hotel to search her room and guess what they found? Well let's just say this cost them 100,00rph and a very humble apology.
With our accommodation we were given a free Indonesian Meal and Kintamarni Tour. The meal was great. Choice of soup or spring rolls, nasi goreng or mei goreng, and sweets were a choice of pancake or fresh fruit. There was only myself and hubby on the tour, so we decided to skip the dance. Went on to all the others. Have been on a few occasions before. Ended up buying a small painting with 4 flowers on it for 50,000rph from a studio (the saleman was desperate to sell), huge kingsize bedspread for 300,000rph which took me a lot of time to negotiate. (I have previously paid only 180,000rph for one but it was'nt as large or as good as quality as this one) At Kintamarni hubby brought a statue for 100,000rph. Our driver had warned us that they change over the item before giving it to you so you don't get as good as quality as when you negotiate. This is true, we saw it with our own eyes.
Looked at getting a new mobile while in Bali. We only use CDMA back home and found this difficult to locate. Then the staff would say only work in Bali. Considering the outlay, needless to say I did'nt ended up purchasing one.
Matahari's department store in Legian Street has closed and now only the supermarket operates. They still have McDonalds and Timezone there.
Had a great day at the Green Garden Spa Resort. Got a voucher with our tickets for a 3 hour spa treatment for 242,000rph. Myself and the girls went for some pampering. First you go in the spa (20mins) then to the Sauna. Into the plunge pool. Then to the rooms change into disposable knickers and sarong for a foot massage & scrub. Then body massage, body exfoliant and a facial. Petal Bath afterwards then ginger tea and a rice wrap. The girls did'nt even try the tea & rice. I did but it was'nt very nice for my tastes.
Our flight left about 25 minutes late but made up time by time we landed. Had to wait 1 ½ hours before our meal was served. Only offered one drink. There was only 3 cabin crew one which is why things took so long.
In all had a great time. Any questions please ask.
