Thought I better break my report up as it is getting too long
Went to the Indo resturant. First time we were lucky to get a seat, the next 3 times we were told we had to wait 1/2 hour or more. Decided to go elsewhere as there were plenty of people lining up and spilling onto the street. At least you can have a beer/drink while you were waiting. Kerry & Milton may have to expand their resturant as it is very popular.
Went to Sammi & Suzie's on the 19th. We were about the first to arrive, within an hour there was plenty of people. Did'nt get to talk to too many people as I was stuck on my crate having a nice chat to a couple of people next to me. Hubby ventured and spoke to a few others. It was the first time I have met here, although I have tried on numerous occasions to locate it. Sammie & Suzie are a delight. Suzie also does great foot massages. I think the drinks were only 6,000rph each. Far cheaper than any of the other sellers we came across. One wanted 20,000rph each, needles to say I offered him 15,000rph and he accepted it.
The RAMS Football club (Rockingham) were staying at the hotel when we were there. Such a great bunch of people. The pool at the Camplung Mas is always busy. People mix very easily there. We ate and drank quiet a bit at the hotel as part of our package we got 25% discount if you spent over 1,000,000rph. Wayan is still doing nails & massage 50,000rph each. They also have a reflexology guy 35,000rph for one hour. A new cocktail bar opened in September in the entrance of the hotel. Not that much business but the beers are certainly colder than at the bar area. Probably would of drunk alot more around the pool bar but the drinks were not always cold. Took over about 10 pinpong bats for the hotel as noticed last time they were a bit worse for wear. The girls had room 35. They had several problems with the toilet. The seat kept on coming away from the bowl and the flushing was'nt very good. You had to pace yourself to one flush per hour otherwise it staying in the bowl.
A couple of things I promised to mention was the hairdressing scissors and jazz shoes. Thanks for the info that was given to me regarding where I could get the scissors from. We went to the shop. It's called FORTUNA. It's just opposite Tragia in Denpasar. My daughter was very delighted. She ended up getting thinning scissors and 3 normal pair of scissors, two of them came in velvet cases. As she wanted offset and also 5.5" there was not too much available. The scissors they ended up giving her 10% discount on. She also got a hairbrush which would of cost her A$30 but only paid about A$13. It ended up costing her about A$120 for the 4 scissors and brush which was a bargin. She has cut with them since returning home and is very happy with them.
Jazz shoes I got again from IWAN Leather in Padma Street. I usually pay 270,000rph for 2 pairs. Rizal was not there and the girl wanted alot more. I told her that's all I pay and luckily she found my orders in the books and agreed on the price. Like always they are perfect. I usually get the sole sticked once we get home as they always seem to lift. When I showed them they have done something different this time (repaired the other shoes free of charge)so they may not need to be stitched.
Has a ball in the surf shops. Basically it's about 25-30% cheaper than back home and the variety is unbelievable. Brought some really nice Billabong handbags & wallets. You can get some real great copy shirts & T-Shirts (Billabong, Quicksilver,Ripcurl)from stalls in the streets. They don't display them but if you ask, they will bring them out. Mostly paid 37,500rph for the T-Shirts and 50,000rph for the button up shirts. Brought make-up from Matahari's - far cheaper than back home. Watches were mostly 30,000rph and daughter got a real nice watch for her partner for 50,000rph. Sunglasses and Caps were mostly 15,000rph.
Had some face to face jewellery done for a freind. Paid 130,000rph plus additional 100,000rph for the other 2 people to go on the keyring. It was a large keyring with 3 people on it for 230,000rph. Got a silver small medalion with 2 people on it for 170,000rph. They are great and needles to say my freind was so happy.
We always take out own DVD player with us while staying at the Camplung Mas as they dont have in-house movies and the TV is mostly indonesian. Found a great electronics shop on the way to Supernova and ended up buying a mini DVD player without screen for 600,000rph. It is so compact and weights only 650gms and is 23.5 x 16.5 x 3.5cm. This is going to be our new travelling companion.
