here you are pressing those buttons again & getting people stirred up.I must say your posts sure make for interesting reading cause we never know what you will come out with next <LOL>
I think you already know that on a number of occassions I agree with quite a number of things you say but not always with the way you say them but that is what makes life interesting.

I agree with you re tourists being friendly but I also think if we are confident enough & have done nothing wrong we should try to avoid being part of the corruption if it regards minor stuff ,others may disagree though or think I am crazy. In hindsight I am probably an real idiot though.

I reckon I have tried to do my little bit re the corrupt polisi a while back. You may have read it at the time about me & the motor bike cop that pulled us over.My husband is quieter than me & doesn't talk a word of Bahasa.Anyway I gave quite a few forumites a laugh re my behaviour at the time.

I think the poor bloke went back to his family that night thinking Thank God that his wife /mother/sister/daughter etc didn't argue with him as much as I did <VBG>.We had done nothing wrong & this Tourist cop was trying to extort money from us for nothing & I would have nothing to do with it.My dear husband was wondering what the hell was going on & why I wouldn't let him hand money over. The policeman & I spoke only in Bahasa. The copper was surprised when I asked for his name & number etc & eventually rode off on his bike in disgust after I made a big deal of telling my husband to Shut up in Bahasa. What a rude & disrespectful wife I was <LOL> I suppose you had to be there ! The funny thing is I was never rude to the policeman I just made it clear we had done nothing wrong so if he wanted us to go to the courthouse re a fine for doing nothing wrong that I would call the Aussie embassy first (who were on speed dial)as well as the head of his police district. For some reason he wasn't too keen on that idea.

BTW - have you found that web site re Bali & changes that tourism have made ? Please try & see if you can find it,it sounds like something I'd love to read.
