2)No. Have just turned up mainly. But not when arriving at 1am.
3)There is usually plenty but depends what you want. Cheap places are plentiful. If you are not fussy you will not have anty trouble (except on New Years Eve in Kuta) Don't ask how I know this.
4) Let us know an area and a price range. What are your basic needs? Air cond etc
5) My husband. You can do quite nicely without one.
I can now fit all my stuff in my cabin bag but it has tasken me 13 trips to get it down to that. The only thing I wouldn't leave behind is my costume and suncream. Anything else you can get there.
