1. You can buy very good suitcases at the Matahari, sorry I didn't check out the price. You can also buy the massive Bali Bags for $9 AU, they have two zips on the one line so you can still padlock them together. Bali Bags are everywhere in the markets.
2. I just texted while I was there, I activated international roam so people could still call me.
3. Taxi from airport will cost 25,000RP set price, when you exit the airport terminal turn right, there is a window where you prepay to go to Kuta. When we came home it still cost 20,000 in a blue cab so for the convenience just go to the window.
4. Book all tours over there, there is heaps of tour places and you don't pay an agent a commission. Book direct, you will see tour desks all over the place.
5. You can call Helgie when you get there, sorry I don't have the number but it may be on Mic's forum. Otherwise email him anyway and tell him your hotel, you can access your email from internet cafes if all else fails. If you choose to buy them from other shops - All of them have DVD players for you to test DVD & CD's. They will tell you if it is a bad copy - usually the lastest ones out as they are still taped from the cinema.
