I am worried about banks/moneychangers in Bali not accepting either US$ or Euro bills if they are not in MINT CONDITION. I am keeping my ATM cards and credit cards ONLY as a stop gap, in case of emergencies. Therefore, Thorsten, the solution seems to be to carry TC's as you have suggested. Yes, the security angle too is taken care off. Also, you may have a good point about the elections influencing the short term value of the Dollar vis-a-vis the Euro. Sooo, I shall wait for a few more days to decide. Fortunately, I have the time.
But, long term, Thorsten, the US$ is headed down. That is as safe a bet as any one could take right now. The Canadian Dollar and the Swiss Franc look to be good hedges ;-)
Thanks a lot, Thorsten, much obliged.
Carlos de Souza.
