Just in time for tomorrow's Melbourne Cup, new evidence has emerged that Phar Lap actually died from an infection caused by a splinter of wood that had lodged in his rectum.
While there is no proof as to how it got there, many people are suspicious of Phar Lap's trainer, Tommy Woodcock.
