First of all and the thing that stood out the most, was the friendliness of the people, they are trully wonderful in nature. I travelled with 2 young children as well. The exchange rate is excellent, so that helps, especially if you are on a budget.
I have not been around the world, but compared to Bangkok, Phuket, & Kuala Lumpur, It is fantastic. The trip is not as long, which is another factor, and the climate is wonderfully hot and humid.
I am not sure what you are looking for in a holiday Carlos, but I would recommend Bali as a destination to anyone. If you like the nightlife and the hustle & bustle, the you stay in Kuta, if you want something more tranquil, you have Ubud, or Lovina. WHatever you are looking for there is something for you in Bali. We stayed in Tuban which is a very short cab ride from Kuta, but the atmosphere is more peaceful.
Needless to say, we are going back without a doubt. Next time though, we will stay in a private villa. We have done the resort thing and both my husband & I agree that a private villa will suit our needs better.
