If you are considering Travellers Checks - you may as well use your Cirrus ATM card. Just look for the funny logo.
Like in Aus - slap it into the machine - punch the keys - and out comes the cash.
ANZ has $5 transaction fee and VERY competitive exchange rates. Very compariable to TC's and almost as secure.
That's as long as you don't get too drunk and frisbee your Keycard somewhere.
