I had left over TC's on the last 2 trips to Bali from our
USA trip last year - I had NO problems changing them anywhere.
I also had left over US$ cash - the only problem I had there was
some notes were pre 1996 (which they don't like to or wont cash).
Also the notes had to be in good condition.
Although you loose about 5% on cashing TC's if you are worried
about theft, then they are ok - yet a bit of a pain having to
take your passport - more worry about getting that pinched !
So, if you are happy to take cash, then AU$100 notes are good.
It is also a goo way if you need to budget - just cash AU$100
note per day.
