They have now gone back on line full time tho with a limited menu. Its become a bit of an expat bar (with the big screen). Rugby fans, a few (real) business people, and "mature" professional surfers in residence most evenings around sunset onwards.
I always thought the food was overpriced and average, but they sure know how to serve beer COLD and reasonably priced.
The upstairs restaurant area is frequented mainly by Japanese, and also doubles as a meeting point for transport back to their hotels.
The host, Freddy, who was the founder of The Pub in Kuta last century and provided Kuta with its first refridgerated beer in the 60's (?), has been absent from Kura Kura for most of the last year as he has been pretty seriously ill.
