What's the consensus on the volcano trekking? I read Agung is a huge, unsafe tourist trap and a poor value anyway. Lonely Planet makes it sound like its run by gangsters. Is Batur the same case? We would like to try a volcano trek, but would anyone recommend it? If so, where? Can you recommend a reputable tour service?
Also, is there enough to do and see in and around Besakih to warrant a stay in the area, or should we just day trip there from Ubud?
