God - I even went into mini markets to try and find something to feed skinny dogs if I didnt have any left overs on me!!!! Its amazing how much bacon and noodles from our breakfasts went to bali dogs!!!!
I tell ya... I nearly brought home one puppy and 2 dogs from Bali. If I thought I could have done it without quaranteen (not to mention I already own 2 dogs) I would have!!!
I just really wanted to wash this little puppy. We so wanted to pat and cuddle her but she was flithy. So we did pat her but washed our hands thoroughly afterwards! The next day when I saw her again just scratching herself non stop - I fed her and sat with her. I just had to do something to try and ease it for her. I bought a cheap sarong and carried her back to the hotel.
I bathed her as quickly as I could (she was obviously a bit afraid of her first bath) and then dried her. As I was drying her I started picking off the fleas. At first I thought the ticks were lumps of dirt still left on her. I got my mum to grab some tweezers (the puppy cries had awoken her) and I tried to grab the whole tick. Checked and the head appeared intact. I squeezed the tweezers before putting onto a tissue. The tick looked dead - not sure if it was dead b4 or after I removed it. I found 3 in total on her. I checked on her several times and no problems with infection or swelling where removed.
Look out for her in Ubud market - you wont miss her she is wirey haired with lots of spots on her belly. Also white dog on monkey forrest road - near Ubud Village hotel - he is a male adult so skinny and a bad leg. If you feed him he will love you!!!
