Out of interest...what phone company are you with? Did you have to organise international roaming on your phone before you left home?
Last year, I just bought a sim card in Bali. It cost around $20 AUD. I did have a different mobile phone number, but that $20 sim card lasted me for 2 and a half weeks, and I sent a lot of text messages back to Australia.
If anyone else has any tips on sending cheap text messages from Bali, please let me know.
