This one is for all you Louis Vuitton,Gucci,Christian Dior, Fendi etc buffs.
I can't say that I'm mad about this range of products, but one kinda has to go with the flow sometimes, and I found that the more I looked at them, the more I liked them. Perhaps I just wanted to be "in vogue" too!
Remembering all I'd previously read on the BTF, I visited TOP TEN in Jalan Melasti, IKONOA in Garlic Lane (Jl Sahadewa) and INSTYLE in Jalan Padma.I also checked out some of the ones found in the markets.
I'm no expert on LV and the other brand names, but I do think that the quality was better at the above mentioned shops, with better handles, more detail on the zips, and somehow a classier look to them.
For all that, I did in fact buy one at the market stall at the MBR -65,000rp for a brown/camel LV handbag, and a "grafitti" black & white LV at Sita Fashion Bag & Pottery (fixed price) on Jl Legian.
My 15 yr old daughter purchased a black, colourful LV wallet at Instyle for 60,000rp(marked at 65,000), and then a day or two later, we went into Top Ten to buy another one the same as a present for her friend.
I noticed that 2 of the staff from Instyle were now at Top Ten, so said hello to Made and her boss Ist. Daughter decided on an impulse buy of a large overnight LV bag, which Ist reduced by 45,000rp for her, and Jud liked the look of a Fendi cabin bag which he also reduced by a generous 50,000rp. I did think that their prices were fixed, but maybe not?
Jud also bought several bags at Ikonoa for 135,000 and 145,000rp, but they were certainly not as generous in their discounting as the other two.
When we go back next year, I will definitely visit Top Ten and Instyle before any of the others.
