I've been living in Bali many years - it gets to you after a while, even to the extent that one actually spends time on the internet trying to answer inane questions. Not that your question is inane.

The chicken/duck/goose "flu" thing, (I think technically it's called "avian flu"), is far from eradicated. But as someone said in one of these posts, it mainly affects people who handle the live buggers and breathe in their infected dust. I eat chicken about 30 times a week and am still alive enough to type helpful rubbish like this. I'd be more worried about things like Baline "lawar" (a kind of local salad delicacy laced with raw pigs' blood), or even Babi Guling (roast/half-cooked/suckling pig). There are many remedies for tape-worm in the west, but not bird flu.

Enjoy !
