As you know we spent the first 10 days at Rama Beach at Tuban and then moved for our final four nights to Kumala Pantai. We prefer Tuban these days as we find it a little quieter. Now the only reason we moved was because Dane had a friend staying at Hotel Jayakarta and I thought it would be nice for him to spend some time with a mate (being an only child and all). Well when it came to pack up and move I was in the bad books because they didn't want to leave Rama. So I was praying that this hotel would be as good as the raves it has been getting.
Lucky for me it passed the test. The boys were happy with the surf out front. The beachfront restaurant - Cafe Sands - was so good that we ate there every night for dinner. The buffet breakfast was also very good. I thought that for a new hotel the beds were a little on the too firm side ( someone had also written this in the guest book).
The pool was huge but definately not enough lounges to go around. A lot of shade around the pool which may not suit those who want to bake. Noise from the pool - kids playing etc. seemed to carry as the blocks of rooms are are built up around the swimming pool.
Would we stay there again - yes - although we still prefer Rama Beach. My favourite at Tuban is the Santika Beach Hotel. They have Bungalows set in lovely gardens - large grounds.
Haven't done a JBR myself yet. The computer at home is so slow and at work I keep getting interrupted by customers - how inconsiderate and rude.)
