there are also a fast boat leaving from Padangbai everyday, the trip to Lombok takes 1 hour 15 minutes. You can go with the PERAMA shuttle from Kuta, Ubud to Padangbai.
In November there shouldn't be any problem to get a seat in the planes as it's offseason. I haven't had any problems for the last 10 years to book a flight between Bali - Lombok or vice versa. Especially if you book a few days in advance. You can book with Merpati or Lion Air. Lion Air's planes are much smaller then Merpati's and they only take around 30 passangers.
