your carryon bags. Don't put them on the scales when you check in. I find the secret is to walk as casually as possible, pretending that your carry-ons don't weigh hardly anything. SO FAR, we have never ever been charged for excess. This year, one suitcase was 28 kgs, the other was 33 kgs, and we had 3 very large and heavy carry-ons which weighed at least 15kgs each!!! I always suspect that a lot of the reason of our succes ( so far, anyway) is that we always arrive very early, after all, it stands to reason, that as the plane fills us they start to crack down on the amounts.
