We have 4 suitcases and another large bag which we checked in and they didnt mention the weight at all
We also had a back pack and 3 size (3) bali bags for cabin luggage (which I know were oversize and weight) but again no mention. ONe zip was broken on the bags and it wouldnt fit in the overhead locker - the steward just smiled and took it off my and stored it in the back of the plane. He brought it back after we touched down.
Maybe we were just lucky - but the girls in front of us had bags, boxes and all sorts - again no mention of excess..... Maybe it depends who checks you in????
