with the kids completed yesterday.
Six great days of perusing and cruising.
Banyuwangi, Kalibaru, Jember, Tretes, Probolingo, Situbondo, Bondowoso.
If you need any info, just ask.
Two things that were most noticable:
1. On two occasions I came across groups of European tourists (Dutch, German, Swiss German), ages from teens to late 60's.
That was unexpected, considering the fear of god thrown on the idea of touring a terrorist nest such as Indonesia according to Western governments, especially during the election period.
The only other westerers I saw in 6 days were a couple of backpackers at Probolingo (Mt. Bromo starting point), a Dutchman at a chinese wedding at the hotel we stayed at in Jember, and a Dutch tour guide at a coffee plantation between Jember and kalibaru.
2. The car ferrys between Gilimanuk and Ketapang and v/v are getting cheaper each time I use them??????
