as a party of 4 people that travelled together were 15 kilos overweight- they flew Garuda. The staff member at the weigh in desk- said " You pay me now and I give you big discount- only charge for 5 kilos. If you go to next counter they charge you very expensive prices- so pay now and i give you big discount". So the girls dug into their wallets and produced $50 with which got their excess through no problems.
Personally I hope the travellers report it to the appropiate persons here in Australia.
