last trip I got quite a few made a by Lee at Bali Aussie in Melasti st.The trip before I think I saw Annie.I would never buy bracelets from Douglas Leather again though because the bracelet broke in 2 as soon as we gave it to our daughter when we got home.No problems with the ones from Bali Aussie though.
I wasn't specifically asked for $1 or $2 coins.I was just asked for gold or silver coins depending whether it was a silver or gold bracelet or ring I wanted made.I had taken heaps of coins with me of all denominations with us.I handed over $1 coins for the gold jewellery & 10 cent & 20 cent coins for the silver & Lee was happy.I was told that it's 1 coin for a ring & 2 for a bracelet.
This trip was the 1st time was ever approached at the airport after arriving asking if we'd change some Aussie coins for Aussie notes. We happily did cause it meant I had more coins for jewellery! It was a porter would probably been given them for carrying cases - just wished him or some of his mates had been inside the darn airport to help with pour case when the plane arrived but they were all too busy talking ,smoking & eating outside the airport <LOL>
Anyway IF this whole thing of handing over Aussie coins for bracelets to be made out of them IS just another scam IS it really that important ? Most of us all like our jewellery we bring home & it usually doesn't break - even if we think they are made out of coins & they are not .It's not that important in the big picture.
