I went for 2 weeks and spent $2,400, that was for 1 adult and 2 teenage kids, I did splurge and let the kids have what they wanted, I guess about a $1000 of it was on food, we went to a few different restuarants and I'm sure my son ordered the most expensive meal on the menu each time. Also we use to stock up our hotel fridge from the mini marts, which was cheap, but mounted up. We also did alot of sightseeing, such as 'white water rafting', 'elephant park', 'Bali Zoo', 'Monkey Forest', hiring drivers to 'Kintamani volcano', orphanages, rice paddies, so we did heaps of stuff. Brought back 60 dvd's, 37 xbox games. So for 3 people it wasnt bad.... next time I need to save up for more, cause I could have brought heaps more stuff....
