some are most definitely made into bracelets, rings etc.
Some locals realise is a good way to get coins and they ask for them, we give them some.
Then those people not the bracelets makers gather their stash together and go to the airport where they ask Australians to swap them for rupiah.
Maybe you have never been asked, maybe you never saw this. I have I did exchange the coins for rupiah and marvel at the ingenuity.
