I was already in Bali having flown on time with Garuda Airlines on the 20th June. My husband & daughter were arriving ex flight GA727 on Monday 28th June, which departs Perth at 8am.
However, my hotel phone rang at 7am on the 28th, and it was hubby saying that Garuda had delayed flight to 2.15pm due to bad weather in Denpasar. You can imagine my surprise as it was a sunny, cloudless day in Legian!
Our flight back to Perth on 9th July was an hour late leaving, but that was preferable to a return flight in 2001, when we were delayed overnight, with all passengers being transferred to 3 different hotels for the night! We were told that it was due to fog at Perth airport, but the Ansett flight left just 20 minutes before the Garuda flight was due to depart. Go figure that out.
From what I've read on the BTF over the years, this type of delay seems a pretty regular occurence for Garuda. I do hope that your problem is resolved and you fly to Bali tomorrow, as it's bad enough missing one day, let alone the anxiety & upset it causes meanwhile.
