Well in the last episode we had arrived back from Yogja and were back at the Kumala Pantai a little shell shocked after our late night flight.Gee I could have really done with a repeat of the late night bacon episode as explained in my previous JBR...
We had a whirlwind day back in Legian organising our shipping(the new restoration rate increase out of Indo is a killer!!!).Must discuss that with the Australian Govt next time i catch up with them.But thats another story....
Dont know about anyone else but i love the walk along the beach from the K.Pantai up to Semiyak area>Great way to start the day and I love the sights.Especially the beach aerobics group who I notice have now got themselves new red tshirts and caps....Very tempted to join in one morning.It would be a definate "one of these things are not like the others"
Another day of manic dawned and I think to myself what happened to the days on coming to Bali just as a tourist and slurping cool drinks by the pool etc.But then I remind myself that my buisness grew out of a love of Bali and REMEMBER I love this racing around like a crazy person in paradise and sipping a cool drink while working at the lap top over looking the pool.Beats a 25th floor stainless steel office remember.

My Beloved Ubud.
What keeps me going on the crazy days is knowing that midway there is always the week spent in Ubud area.Truely my coming home...I have already specified that when the time comes half my ashes get scattered in Ubud over the rice paddies and the other half off the Light House at Byron Bay.Still working on the Cremation Tower though.Had my eye on one that was being built in the centre of Ubud last week just near the Palace.Sorry to have missed the ceremony to be held 24th I beleive for a relative of the Ubud royal family.An evebt not to be missed if you are there.

Anyway going to Ubud always means a reunion with our driver and friend of 5 years Made Suheta.The most genuine and patient person you could ever meet.Not to metion a smile that lights up the whole of Ubud during a power failure(which is not uncommen)and darn good driver as well.To make contatc with him try outside the Lotus Cafe or ph. 081 23982468 he also responds well to a text message.
We took soem gifts for his family and his wife and daughter in particular loved the makeup and nail polish as they had never had either before.

On arrival at The HoneyMoon GuestHouse were we have stayed over the last 5 years at least twice a year we were greeted with "Welcome to your second home" by the staff.The perfect greeting and soothing to the soul to hear.By the way the Guesthouse isnt named for honeymooners but ratehr after the Bakery in the lane.If you would like to check out the website try www,casalunabali.com gives you all the details etc.My second most favourite morning walks commence here I think after 5 years the rice pady farmers have now got used to me Jalan Jalan and now nod ,smile and we exchange Pagi,s...

Visit to the Orphanage;
It was from Ubud that we also did a visit to a Tabanan Orphanage PANTAI ASUHAN SALAM which i found on the site www.carryforkids.com
We made contatcwith them prior speaking with Pac Gusti and were informed we were very welcome anytime to pay a visit.The orphanage a present is home to about 30 children ranging from 6 to 18 and they no longer receive any funding from outside sources.They do receive minimum allowance of rice,sugar and cooking oil.We took along powdered milk,noodles more rice(whoops!) but next time we will stock up on tea more noodles,milk and detegent,personal hygeine items.We took along heaps of small toys,books,school needs,hair clips bands ribbons etc and lots of soft toys which almost broke your heart to see teenage girls cuddling these as a toddler would.for the boys we had numerous pairs of old football boots which brought the biggest smile to their faces.Sport is their big love even though they have no equipment on hand so next time we will stock up on those sorts of items as well.We took lots of photos on digital which the children loved looking at themselves.A warm and fuzzy day had by all...
Thats all for this JBR next time the Local Sports Day and the Coke Bottle and String Event!
