Inna Kuta is the best located hotel which is actually on the beach - all the main attractions are walking distance from there - Art market nearby, Matahari around the corner, Hard Rock (when you want an expensive beer) across the street. One of the rare places where you can run from poolside into the surf - which is very handy since you never need to worry about your "stuff" on the beach when swimming.
