I was book to stay at the Pelangi in April. I reserved the super delux room. I just thought you might want to know some of the problems we had with them. To start things off on the wrong foot, the airport shuttle never showed up. After catching a cab to get to the hotel, we arived to find out that they did'nt have sea view rooms, even though we had reserved them. As a matter of fact, they didn't have a s-delux room available as well. Funny thing, they also said that the rate for our reservation was wrong too, the rooms they had would be more expensive. All they had were small rooms with small beds over looking an ally. My wife and I decided that we would go else were, wich is when things got interesting. The manager of the hotel said that it would not be a problem since they did not have our room (it was easter weekend in thier defence) and that he would not charge the night stay for cancelling the resverations. I checked the balance on my credit card before I left Bali only to find out that they had charged me $100.00us over the reservation room rate for cancelling a room they did not have. Soo, I walked down and talked to the manager again to try to straighten up the problem. They gave me the run around, but in the end he said the charge would be reversed, and gave me a document to show the charge was in error. It's been three months now, and I'm still trying to get the money back. The manager told my credit card company that he never issued the document, and that not haveing the room that is reserved is not an officail reson for cancellation of resverations.
Well, to end probably one fo the longest posts in the forums history, we ended up down the road at the Royal Seminyak. Great hotel, great staff, and I'll be staying thier again in April.
