Got up early and took older son surfing at Uluwatu. I have never been to Uluwatu at the crack of dawn and was very surprised to see all the warungs overrun wih monkeys!! They were getting into everything and anything! Like we were in that movie Planet of the Apes! They would barely pay us any notice but when they did they would give us stink eye and show their teeth. Very territorial! It was kinda scary just walking past them down along the trail.......
Surf was fun. Later back at Kuta took younger son surfing out front of Padma St. High tide and some good right handers......
Met up with our Balinese friend and went to his new house. It was beautiful!! Later he took us to canguu but surf not too good so had a very relaxing late lunch at restaurant overlooking the beach. Mmmmmm....Bintangs.....Mmmmmm
Dinner later that evening across the street from Garden View at LeMonde. Good Pizza!!
Day 5- Dawn Patrol at Ulu again. No Monkeys???? Good waves and getting bigger!
Later went to G-land Surfing camp office( Wanasari) to arrange for a ten day trip to the most beautiful place on earth! For surfers or even non-surfers this place is Nirvana. For me heaven on Earth! On the easternmost tip of Java there is a national forest reserve which is covered with lush jungle. It is very unspoiled and untouched. They have set up a camp there for surfers who want to surf one of the longest waves in the world. Or for people who just want to get away from it all. I could go on and on,(I will later), You pay a one time fee(depending on your accomadation, and then all meals, water, soda, etc. is taken care of. Use to be beer too but that would get out of hand. They did have bottled BINTANG this year, that was great!!! Pool table, ping pong, fishing, even a movie theater, all on the edge of a wild jungle. We saw snakes, wild boars, monkeys, eagle(Garuda), Monitor lizards that come to feed on the scraps daily, and who knows what else is back there if you ventured deeper into the jungle, Tigers? Pumas? No Thanks!!! I think grajagan.com is the link for cool photos.
On the computer at the office we saw that the forecast for larger surf was good! Big swells coming all week!! I'll type more tomorrow :-) Aloha/Sing Ken Ken
