an alternate universe that you enter the moment you step off the plane at denpasar airport, and then leave this universe in tears when you have to say goodbye to all of the amazing, forever smiling balinese that you have met, then trying to explain to them (and continuously telling yourself) that it is not a goodbye, it is just a 'see you later', you'll be back as soon as you know it and will be having twice as much fun as what you did on the previous holiday. thinking of bali always brings tears to my eyes, because it is just such an amazing place, with such amazing people, luckily for me i only have to wait 12 months in between trips, god knows how i would survive if i had to leave it any longer.
