When you are saying that 10.000Rp is expensive for noodlesoup you see it with Indonesian eyes. For visitors it's still cheap. But you don't have to pay 10.000Rp. At the local warungs the price for Nasi Campur, Noodle Soup, Mie Goreng, Soto Ayam is 5000Rp. That's reasonable, as all the products used have to be transported from Lombok and people have to make a profit as well. Buy your food at Idja's Warung or from Mary's Simple, tasty and good.
Accomodation on the island shouldn't be a problem. There has been a few times when it has been completely sold out but it's very rare. Try some way from the beach at MATA HARI INN or on the northern tip at CORAL BEACH 1, inexpensive and it's also possible to bargain the price. Have a nice stay. Anita
