From Kuta u r looking at about a 2 hour drive, but well worth it, get yourself a driver like i did, tell him what u want to see, that particular day we did a lot of sight seeing. We went to Ubud first and to the markets and the Monkey forrest(which is only about $3 aussie to get in) then he drove us to the volcano, u can have lunch up there at one of the restaurants, he will tell u which one to avoid cause of the awful food. Then on the way back we went through Dempasar to the shopping malls and the markets, all the time your drive waits for u, helps with youor bags etc, we made it a full day trip costing around $35 aussie for the whole day, and that is for a car and driver and passengers, so u are not paying out $35 each but divide this amount between u all, so its a worthwhile day. I recommend "JIMMY", he speaks good english and is so so funny, tell him what u want and he will show u anythng and everything.........u can SMS him prior and he will be there at your hotel the day u want and pick u up.....his number to sms is....628123807786...this is the price of a normal text.
