I am a surfer from Hawaii. The three prior trips I came with my surfing "buddies"/mates to surf the perfect waves of Bali. I would miss my wife and kids immensely. This trip was different. I didn't miss my wife and kids..........because this was a family vacation/holiday. Both my wife and I are in our early 40's, my two sons are 12 and 16 yrs. old. Sorry about the earlier post about Continental airlines,but I feel we were wronged and had to vent........But we weren't gonna let that ruin our vacation...........
After a 13 hour flight we arrived in beautiful Bali! No worries at the VOA (arrived at 10:30 PM) Outside the airport our excellant driver "Made Dera" was waiting,(So great to see him again!) He drove us to our hotel,Garden View Cottages where we tried to get some sleep, but soooo excited we didn't get much sleep.
Woke up? and had our free breakfast, included with hotel room, then off to show my wife and kids around the neighboring area. While "jalan-jalan" the kids were fast to learn, "Tidak Terimah Kasih". My wife on the other hand didn't take to the constant "transport?", "sunglasses?", "watches", "timeshare", etc. so we scurried back to home base were it was safe. Bit of a culture shock for her I think, so we got in Made Dera's bemo and headed out to a more serene atmosphere at Belangan. My wife was in heaven. Two ladies massaging her at the same time for over an hour, great food cooked up fresh, and ice cold Bintangs! What more could you ask for? Even had some fun surf for my older son. At the end of the day when we were settling our bill we tried to give extra for the two ladies massage. They insisted on not taking our money. Just saying "Sing Ken Ken" and Please come back again! Wow! What a difference from earlier in the day at Kuta!..................
Back to the hotel and some showeres, then off to Wayan & Friends for a delicious inexpensive dinner. Filet Mignon and fresh fish! Needless to say we all slept good that night!!!................
