We used a driver based in Ubud but happy to pick us up from Seminyak. While not perfect but still very good, he charged 150,000 for a full day and we gave him 200,000 when we got in late - after 7pm. The day usually started at 930am - our choice, hey we're on holiday. And several times cancelled him at 830 via sms - text to his cell phone so he could get other work for the day. This was not a problem to him and we appreciated his flexibility.
But the extra cost may have been worth it for appropriate commentary of pasting places of interest. Just be aware that 300,0000 is at the top end in my opinion.
