We brought close to 300 DVD's back. I personally bought 70 music DVD's, the rest were some movies (including new releases that were not even released as films in Aus yet at the time!), PS2 games and Xbox games (kids); also some PC programs. It's cheaper to buy a new movie over there than to rent it in Aus when eventually released, so why ever not?
And yes, if you buy from a larger store (Star Disc in Legian strongly recommended for movies, also Sakura and SoftComp Centre in Kuta for music and Xbox), the quality is very good. We recently watched Shrek 2, Harry Potter, The day after tomorrow, Garfield to name but a few, and nothing wrong with them. I have two DVD players at home, one is a older Pioneer, and the other one is a newer, cheap brand that can also play MP3's, and I found that the cheaper player plays all DVD's without freezing at all (whereas the more expensive, but older player tends to freeze somewhat with the new releases). The music DVD's are brilliant, surround sound and all.
