Let me try to answer of ur question.
1.It's ok to change it there but if u can find one authorised call"Kuta Central money changer"(no commision)at Melasti street and Raya Kuta street
2.Just be careful to choice some restaurants or foods but don't drink with ice
3.There are many leather shops at poppies lane and kuta around,u just enter to it and don't forget to bargain
4.Sorry i don't know about top ten but u'll find many shops around kuta to buy bag and shoes
5.Yes, the room is ok
