I stayed at Sandies school for a while in May and did some teaching.
Sandie did not know of any places in Tampaksiring.
You can stay in Ubud. It takes about 20 mins by public Bemo (2 actually). They run often and cost 2.000 each bemo each way. So 8.000 a day.
From Tempaksiring you get a Bemo to Bedulu, then change to get one to Ubud. It's not bad but don't know if I would want to do it everyday. At the end of a days teaching though you might like to go to Ubud for a nice meal and a bit of night life.

Say hi to Sandie, even if you are not working there. Her family compound (and school) are just up from the local school. I did not get to meet her as she was in France. The kids are great. Say hi to them from Ibu Lynne (from Sydney).
