I am colins wife Lee. I thought I would answer your question as Colin has not seen it. When we transfered our accomodation from our package with qantas holidays, we had paid for a family garden room at the dynasty. They did a swap with no extra charges to a deluxe room at santika. This also covered cancellation costs at the Dynasty, it seems Santika rooms are simmilar prices but you get bonus nights which brings down the total cost.
When checking in at the Santika we aasked for an upgrade to a double queen suite and they gave it to us for 40 usd. this worked out to be about 58 aud per night. The room was twice the size of the Dynasty so I think the extra money was reasonable. If you try to book direct through the website they will probably charge you the advertised rate. You will get the best deal through a travel agent especially if you get the bonus nights.The deluxe rooms are also very nice just renovated but you don't get the extra services plus are further away from the beach.
