it was 2 years ago, and as a forumite said recently "things change fast in Bali."
Anyway we liked it very much. Very small hotel. No restaurant, either eat on room balcony or at table near pool. The 'room safe' was an old fashioned key to a cupboard. We kept everything in the cupboard with no problems. No telephones in room or t.v. If these things bother you, check with hotel to see if it's changed in past 2 years.
We were constantly asking for tea to be brought to room, expecting to be charged at end of stay. It turned out to be free, even though we only stayed 3 nights. (no lifts but the stairs are few and easy)
The hotel had free transport 'in bosses car' into Kuta each day, and if car was unavailable they'd pay for our taxi at whatever time we wanted to go. So the personal touches were really nice.
Central Seminyak wasn't in walking distance for us. However it was just 4-5 mins away by taxi so hardly noticeable cost wise.
Prior to arriving in Bali and with very little bargaining via email directly to hotel, they upgraded our room and gave us the room for half the price of any online agent, which included breakfast, morning tea and afternoon tea.
Although i cannot recommend this hotel, as i don't know of any changes, for myself i'd be willing to give this hotel another go.
My husband's comment at the time "something really romantic about this hotel. Perfect for couples"
