just back from Bali.
1 thing i couldnt find much out about from the wonderful forum was the bakungs beach cottages in Tuban.
so heres an idea of what i thought...
just wanted to give you a review on Bakungs beach cottages Tuban.
Its a very budget hotel. the rooms are clean, beds arent overly comfortable, (double bed is generally 2 singles put together) some air conditioners dont work, just ask to switch rooms if you get this issue. EG room 710 aircon didnt work and room 711 was great.
the staff are great, the restaurant is awful.
overall definitely liveable, a bit far out. better to get a taxi called and leave from the hotel lobby. (light blue taxi only!) there is also a nice little massage parlour just over the road from the hotel, good prices.
If you just want budget hotel its ok, you get hasseled as soon as you leave the hotel. We tried to have a meal in the hotel restaurant, couldnt stomach it, very bad. had the included brekkies some mornings. the juice, coffee and rice was edible.
if avail request rooms 711/713/709. all aircon etc worked in these.
