I'm just going on what I read and did read in the archives before I even posted.
There were many targets & debates back then.
As a newbie I think I read nearly every post in the archives lol before I posted.
Was also unsure about posting as there seemed to be a group of close friends and also the so called 'nasties'.
I bit the bullet & posted anyway...and everything was fine.
