During our various trips to Bali we have found it far better to take cash (Aussie Notes). American Travellers Cheques are not usually accepted at most money changers, and it is too expensive to change dollars to Rupiahs over here in Assie. Havent tried ATMs but have used my Visa card for cash advances from the bank in Kuta square.
