le meridien area is very quiet & there's nothing much to do. It'll be better for you to stay in the orchard area (shopping district). Some hotels that you can try hotel phoenix, orchard hotel, meritus mandarin, royal plaza on scotts etc. They are all in the shopping district and close to subway stations. price ranges between US$70-90.
